Vacation

I hope this post finds you well and that your week has been a blessed one. As for me, I am writing from my hotel room in Amite City, Louisiana. We left home this morning on our annual family vacation and we are headed to Galveston Beach, Texas to get a dose of the gulf beach from the Texas coast. We haven’t been there before so we don’t know quite what to expect. However, it really doesn’t matter because we are all together as a family and count ourselves very fortunate to be able to say that. God has blessed us in so many ways and I don’t really know how to express my gratitude for those blessings. God is so good! So good to me!

We also celebrated the birthday of our granddaughter, Bristol McVay, in the hotel room tonight. I think this was a first for us. To experience one of the kids having a birthday while we were on vacation. She was so surprised. I think she thought we had forgotten. We also ate dinner at a local Mexican restaurant and they sang Happy Birthday to her in Spanish. She didn’t understand the words but she certainly new the tune.

I apologize that I don’t have some religious or theological topic to discuss tonight but the important thing in my life right now is spending time with my family. As each year passes by I realize that my time is getting shorter and I want them to know how much I love and cherish them. Next to my relationship with my Lord, they are my life. I hope you can say that too. God certainly knew what He was doing when He instituted the family.

I hope all of you have a great time in the Lord tomorrow and please pray for us as we travel that God’s hedge of protection will continue to surround us until we return home. May God richly bless each of you.

David
