A big hello to all of you. Another week has passed us by and my how they seem to fly. Summer is still reminding us that hot temperatures are the norm for us this time of year. But fall is just around the corner and before you know it the Christmas season will be on us and then another year will be gone forever.
Last week I shared with you that I felt like I need to express my gratitude for the blessings that the Lord has sent my way and I began with the gift of salvation that became mine many years ago. This is the greatest blessing of all. But there are many more that come to mind as I sit and ponder things of the past and present. So I’ll move on with some others.
I am so grateful to God for the wonderful wife he gave me 45 years ago. I’ve told many people this before, but the first time I ever laid eyes on her I knew she was special. Little did I know then that we would share the rest of our lives together. I can’t imagine life without her. God certainly knew what He was doing when he made a helpmate for Adam in the Garden of Eden. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.
I am so thankful to God for the three beautiful daughters He has blessed me with. What a joy it has been to watch them grow into beautiful women. And I mean beautiful in many ways. In how they care for their husbands and their children. In how they treat other people. In how they seek to honor God. Another blessing I don’t deserve. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.
I am so grateful for the nine wonderful grandchildren He has allowed me the privilege to be a part of their lives. I have had the opportunity to be present at the hospital when every one of them was born and hold them while they were only a few minutes old. I have watched every one of them grow and change and become their own person. They are gifts from God himself and I cherish them. I pray that I will always have a positive impact on their lives. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.
As you can probably see, my family is the most important thing in my life next to my relationship with Jesus. I’m sure each of you feel much the same as I do about your families and consider them blessings also. As I said before; if you had a list of the things you are thankful for it would probably be very similar to mine. Maybe you are like me and need reminding every once in a while.
Well, I’ll have more next week to be thankful for. How about you?
